This year, Stacey helped one state senator to introduce more taxpayer money-saving measures than anyone else while she worked on the floor of the Iowa Senate. In November, Stacey worked to protect free and fair elections in Iowa. She was instrumental in organizing the lawsuit to stop the Wapello County Auditor from counting illegal absentee ballots. She also learned firsthand that Voter ID reforms are needed when she witnessed attempted voter fraud while working as a poll watcher on election day. Stacey cut her teeth in constitutional law and public policy while working at The Goldwater Institute in Phoenix, one of the conservative/libertarian think tanks now suing to repeal Obamacare. On a personal level, Stacey’s family has been in Iowa since the 1800s. That’s why, after she graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law, she decided to stay and make Iowa her home. Stacey knows that central Iowa still represents one of the last, best places to raise a family. In college, she worked as a private Preschool and Kindergarten teacher.
